Books, government documents, and music CDs are loaned to Augustana University & Sioux Falls Seminary students for four weeks, with two renewals possible. Media items (DVDs, videos, etc) are loaned for one week. To renew items please call 605.274.4921 or e-mail us.
As part of the Mikkelsen Library, the Interlibrary Loan Department works to facilitate and support the teaching, learning, and scholarship of Augustana University and Sioux Falls Seminary students. The Interlibrary Loan staff strive to provide accurate, timely, and consistent service in a courteous and informed manner in order to provide the best service to our users. Students and staff can place ILL orders by using the Interlibrary Loan link found in the library catalog and in many of the library's electronic databases/resources. Users can also e-mail email@example.com, or call the library at 605.274.4921. Printouts of requested items are also accepted at the Circulation Desk. The patron’s name and email or phone should be printed clearly on each printout. Most articles will be delivered electronically to the staff or student's e-mail address. E-mail is also used to notify users that their books or media ILLs are availble to be picked up.
The library offers faculty and staff off-campus access to the library's electronic resources via a proxy server. The login is the same as your myaugie/moodle login. Watch a tutorial! Librarians are available for research help on a drop-in basis or by appointment. During the academic year, librarians are available
Twelve study rooms are available in the library. Ten rooms are located on the upper level and two rooms are located on the lower level. Each room includes a 55" LCD TV with the capability of connecting to laptops. All study rooms except 304 have a whiteboard.
Study Room Guidelines
Mikkelsen Library provides proctoring services without charge. The proctor policy articulates the procedures for professors and students. Emily Zillgitt (email@example.com - 605.274.4921) is the library’s coordinator of proctoring services. Any full-time library staff member may serve as the proctor. Professors must complete the Proctor Request Form before students can schedule exam times. There is no designated enclosed area for testing. Students will be seated near the staff area, but library staff will only provide occasional monitoring. After the Proctor Request Form has been received, students can arrange a time to test by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Students may not begin an exam within 90 minutes of the library closing. Check library hours.
The library has 18 desktop computers available on the first and second levels of the library. Log in to your PaperCut account to print.
The library has 20 laptops that are available for check out and use in the library. Use your ID to check out a laptop to use for up to 6 hours inside the library. For more information, visit the main circulation desk.
Media Services has 17 traveling laptops available for check out and use outside of the library.
Multimedia Editing Stations
There are two iMac computers in the Media Lab, located across the hallway from Media Services, that can be used for editing projects. The computers have the full Adobe Creative Cloud and Final Cut Pro available for use. There is also a green screen room that is available for creative projects. The editing computers and green screen room can be reserved through our online room booking service.
Multi-function printing and copying machines are available on each level of the library. Printing from PaperCut to any of these machines is free of charge. Multi-function machines also have scan-to-email capability.
Color printing is available at the main circulation desk for $.15 per page ($.25 for double-sided printing).
Large format printing is offered in Media Services for $5 per square foot. One side of the poster must be 41" or less.
The library offers 3D printing at $1 per printing hour. If you would like assistance with the design or printing of a project contact the Media Services.
Wireless internet access is available for Augustana and Sioux Falls Seminary students. To access WiFi, students should open a Web browser and log in using your Augustana or SF Seminary network login. If you are using a personal laptop, library staff are happy to assist you or connect you with the Information Technology Help Desk (lower level, Madsen Center).
