What are the Costs?
The majority of ILL material arrives free of charge. The patron will be contacted if material cannot be borrowed from libraries that lend free. If the lending library charges to loan an item, that fee is passed on to the user who has requested the material.
How long until ILL materials arrive?
How do I know if my ILL is in?
ILL staff will notify patrons of ILL arrivals via email or text message (standard rates apply). Items for faculty and staff will be delivered via the library's Mikk Express service. Articles will be sent to the patron's email in a PDF.
What if I lose or damage an ILL item?
A lost or damaged ILL item will result in a replacement charge plus handling fees assessed by the lending library. Please contact the ILL Office right away if an ILL item is lost or damaged.

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.Under certain conditions specified in the Law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproductions. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of that order would involve violation of the law.
Understanding copyright can be a difficult and often confusing task. Read further information about copyright from the United States Copyright Office.
The ILL Department adheres to copyright guidelines when lending and borrowing material. Contact the library with any questions or concerns.
