Interlibrary Loan Requests

As part of Mikkelsen Library, the Interlibrary Loan Department works to facilitate and support the teaching, learning, and scholarship of Augustana College and Sioux Falls Seminary students. The Interlibrary Loan staff (Jan Brue Enright & Becky Folkerts) strive to provide accurate, timely, and consistent service in a courteous and informed manner in order to provide the best service to our users.

Students can place ILL orders by using the Interlibrary Loan link found in the library catalog and many of the library's electronic databases/resources. Users can use the ILL form, send an e-mail to augustanaill@gmail.com, or call the library at 605.274.4921. Printouts of items needed are also accepted at the Circulation Desk. The patron’s name and email or phone should be printed clearly on each printout.

Most articles will be delivered electronically to the student's e-mail address. Students will receive an e-mail when books and media are available to be picked up in the library.

Laptop Checkout

The library has 32 laptops that are available for check out and use in the library. Your ID will allow you to check out the laptop for up to 6 hours for use in the library. For more information, stop by the main circulation desk.

Off-Campus Access

The library offers Augustana and Sioux Falls Seminary students off-campus access to the library's electronic resources via a proxy server. The login is now your Novell/E-mail login.

Wireless Access

The library provides wireless access for Augie students as well as Sioux Falls Seminary students. Students must open a Web browser and log in using your Augustana or SF Seminary network login (your netware login/password and select your context in the pull-down list). You are required to run CCA (Cisco Clean Access) to make sure your systems are worm and virus free. If you are using a personal laptop, library staff are happy to assist you or connect you with the Information Technology Help Desk (lower level, Madsen Center).

Study Rooms

Thirteen rooms are available in the library for private or group study. Eleven rooms are located on the upper level with two study rooms available on the lower level. Each room includes a 42" LCD TV with the capability of connecting to laptops.

Study Room Guidelines

1. Augustana or Sioux Falls Seminary students and staff may check out keys or reserve the group study rooms. Check out period is up to 3 hours.

2. Check out keys or reserve rooms at the front desk of the library or by calling 274-4921.

3. Reservations may be made up to one day in advance; one reservation per day per individual. You will be asked to leave your cell number when making a reservation.

4. There is a ten minute grace period for room reservations. If you miss your reservation by more than ten minutes, the next person on the waiting list will be given the room.

5. Please return the room key to the front desk when you leave.

6. The Library staff is not responsible for personal items left unattended in the study rooms. Items left in a group study room past the time of the reservation will be collected and held at the front desk.

Check Out/Loan Periods

Books are loaned to Augustana College & Sioux Falls Seminary students for 4 weeks, with two renewals possible. Media items (DVDs, videos, etc) are loaned for one week. Music CDs are loaned for 4 weeks.

To see what you have checked out, and to renew, go to My Account/Renew in the Library Catalog. Your barcode is on the your ID and your last name is your password. We will also renew items over the phone. Please call 605.274.4921 during regular library hours.
